ROYAL EMPEROR - SUDAN
Price includes: Return economy class airfares from London Heathrow to Port Sudan; all transfers; 1 night in Cairo on the outbound journey; 7 nights Royal Emperor including all meals and 6 days diving services, tanks, weights & airfills. Drinks are not included on the boat. Dates below are for departure from & return to the UK, and not actual boat dates.

GENERAL EGYPTIAN TRAVEL INFORMATION
Visas: British passport holders can arrange full Egyptian visas with us before departure for £10; alternatively they may also be purchased on arrival for $16 (although this may involve some queuing). You will require this full visa as you will be diving outside of the local area. Please note your passport must be valid until at least 6 months after the trip returns.
Arrival in Egypt: You will be met by our local representative, waiting for you inside the terminal building after the baggage reclaim, and will have a sign displaying the name of your boat.
Final night: You will be transferred from the boat after lunch to a hotel for your last night. Your evening meal and breakfast are included. You will then be transferred later in the day in time for your flight home.

GENERAL SUDANESE TRAVEL INFORMATION
Flights: Flights are scheduled services from the UK to Port Sudan on Egypt Air or British Airways, Sudan Airways &/or Alitalia. Routings vary (please refer to your trip itinerary) but will involve at least one change of aircraft en route (usually in Cairo). Baggage allowance is 20kg checked and 5kg carry on. Excess baggage will be charged at the applicable rates.
Cairo: Where your flight connection in Cairo requires an overnight stay transfers & accommodation will be pre-booked for you. Optional sightseeing excursions to the various cultural sights can be arranged.
Arrival in Port Sudan: Your flight will arrive in Port Sudan where you will be met by our representatives waiting inside the terminal building. You will be asked for your Passports which will be returned at the end of your trip.
Clothes & Customs: The Sudan operates Islamic Sharia Law. Alcohol is not permitted and may not be imported. Non-Muslim women are not expected to wear a veil, but visitors should dress modestly while ashore (covering shoulders and legs) and respect local customs and sensitivities. Shoes are not worn onboard; shorts, t-shirts and swimwear are the norm. We recommend warmer clothes for the evenings, particularly winter months. Towels are provided in cabins but we recommend you pack a beach towel for after diving. Remember sunscreen, hats and sunglasses, as the weather is nearly always sunny.
Money: You will need a little cash; US dollars are recommended for meals & drinks, souvenirs and taxes not included in the trip. Travellers cheques and credit cards are not accepted in the Sudan although Credit Cards are accepted on board Royal Emperor at a small premium. Onboard drinks are charged on an honesty system payable at the end of the cruise with a tip for the crew if appropriate.
Tax: The Sudanese authorities apply a number of taxes to all visiting divers, including departure tax. The total for a 1 week cruise is US $155, for 2 weeks, US$205, payable locally.
Passports/Visas: Entry visas are required by all nationalities to Egypt & Sudan. We include the cost of Egyptian Visas for UK passport holders. Please send us photocopies or scans of your passport information pages at the time of booking so that we may arrange permissions to travel prior to the issuing of visas. Visas will be issued on arrival in Port Sudan, where a charge of US$65 is payable locally. Visas will not be issued on passports where there is evidence of a previous visit to Israel (including a Taba crossing).
