Two hours North of Nadi International Airport, and in the middle of Viti Levu's
"Sun Coast" is Wananavu Beach Resort. Perched
on a private headland it offers views of both the sunrise
and sunset. In fact, there is not a moment during the
day when the sun is not shining on some part of Wananavu!
Just 31 deluxe bures ranging from garden, ocean &
beachfront bures to the Deluxe Honeymoon Bure to 2-bedroom
beachfront and oceanview villas cater for a divers or
those merely looking to get away from it all. Communication
with the outside world is limited! There are no phones,
radios or TVs in the bures, so your office can't get
in touch with you!.
Every bure is ocean or garden facing or overlooking
the beach and offers air-conditioning and ceiling fans
or can be naturally cooled by the sea breezes. Beautiful
polished wooden floors are quite and cool underfoot.
A sunny wooden decking area faces the gardens or sea,
and plants screen you from your neighbours.
The bures each have a a queen bed, and sleep 2 adults,
though some can be reconfigured to accommodate 3 by
adding a single bed. Air conditioning, ceiling fans
mini bar & fridge and tea & coffee making facilities
are all standard. The doors and windows are all screened
so you can enjoy the cooling sea breezes and fresh air
and wake up in the morning without a bunged up nose!
Two bedroom garden bures are perfect for a family or
sharing friends. One bedroom has a queen bed and the
other two single beds; a private and secluded verandah
provide space to socialise.
The Deluxe Honeymoon Bure has stone walls with private
bathroom, air-conditioning, ceiling fan and King size
bed. There is a private deck with outdoor furniture

houses an outdoor shower. This bure is much larger and
more private than the standard bures.
The Beachfront Villas are fully self contained with
a balcony that looks out across the ocean and onto the
magnificent surrounding gardens. Each has two bedrooms,
a kitchen, living room with ceiling fans and a private
balcony with BBQ area. An Oceanview Villa offers seclusion
and a romantic setting for a couple only, but with all
the facilities of the Beachfront Villas.
Meals are taken at the restaurant where sumptuous dishes
including locally caught fish, can be enjoyed with panoramic
views of the resort and ocean beyond. Once a week a
Fijian lovo, or traditional feast is offered
- food is wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in a pit
in the ground full of hot stones. Picnic trips to nearby
islands can be arranged for those wishing for a romantic
lunch away from other guests. A wide range of wines
and spirits is available, plus of course exotic cocktails
made using fresh juices and imported spirits.
For non divers there is a tennis court (rackets &
balls are provided), snorkeling off the beach and along
the house reef and sea kayaks for exploring the coastline.
Handlines are available if you fancy trying to catch
a spot of your own lunch! For the less adventurous demonstrations
about such subjects as cooking, bush medicine, coconut
climbing and Fijian culture are regularly held. The
Wai Spa offers health and beauty treatments for those
who want to be pampered after a busy day!
Further afield from the resort itself village and island
tours, waterfall visits, game fishing, horse riding,
rafting, bird watching and boat snorkeling trips can
all be arranged.
Scuba diving off the northern shores of Viti Levu is
some of the finest in Fiji. The fact that the liveaboards
ply this area says it all! The legendary Bligh Waters,
between the Sunshine Coast and Vanua Levu have free
flowing currents bringing in nutrient rich but clear
water from the deep Pacific to the north west. We use
local dive operation Kai Viti Divers who offer two or
three dives a day from their custom made 35ft &
40ft jet boats, each with fresh water showers, gear
storage bins, tank racks and dedicated camera areas
and rinse bins.
Diving is tailored to correspond with the optimum tide
for the desired dive guests wish to experience that
day. The moon phase, tides and weather will be considered
to optimize the dive plan for pelagics, soft corals,
or small critters.
Wananavu offers exceptional value for money considering
the quality of its accommodation and facilities. Being
on the doorstep of Bligh Waters allows access to some
of Fiji's finest diving in a fabulous romantic and secluded
setting.
