Damai I & Damai II

The Damai Fleet consist of two exceptional vessels, Damai I and Damai II. Both are built in the traditional style of an Indonesian phinisi sailing vessel, and provide a unique and exclusive experience.

Damai I, built by traditional boat builders in South Sulawesi is 130ft in length and offers accommodation for just 12 guests in 6 cabins; 2 single cabins with queen sized beds, 2 deluxe cabins with queen and king sized beds, and 2 master cabins with king sized beds. Each cabin has dedicated air conditioning, en suite bathrooms with separate head, and one of the master cabins even has a private balcony! Each cabin is fitted out in beautiful local hardwoods and luxury furnishings. The cabins are more reminiscent of a luxury private yacht than a working dive vessel!

The air conditioned main saloon features a dining area and seating area for you to relax between dives and enjoy the sumptuous food that comes from the galley. A dedicated camera room with benches, shelving and charging facilities gives ample room for photographers to tinker with their equipment. The top deck has a vast sun lounging area, and there are also shaded areas throughout the vessel if you prefer a slightly cooler outside environment.

There are a maximum of 4 divers per dive guide, a unique selling point of both vessels. This allows for uncrowded diving and far better opportunities for underwater photographers, as the dives are far more relaxed. Up to four dives a day are offer, plus night dives when the boat is not relocating from one area to another.

Between dives, if you have some (hopefully non-diving related!) aches and pains there is a full service spa on board offering a variety of treatments to soothe those over dived bodies!

Damai II was built by the same builders as Damai I, and is of similar proportions to its sister vessel. Built to the same exacting standards as Damai I, with improvements such as a larger camera room, Damai II is a beautiful vessel in every respect. There are again just 6 cabins, 4 below deck and 2 superior staterooms on the main deck. Each below deck cabin can accommodate single or twin occupants, with queen sized bed and day bed, en suite bathroom and individual climate control. Two cabins are intended for single occupancy only at no extra charge, thus making the total complement of guests a mere ten! The stern staterooms are huge, with super king-sized beds, day beds, desks, private sun deck, en suite bathrooms and individual climate control.

The same 4:1 diver/guide ratio is maintained on Damai II, and the vessel also boasts two custom made high speed dive tenders. Damai II also has a dedicated spa, shaded sun deck, an outside eating area and air conditioned saloon.

It cannot be stressed enough that both of these vessels offer the highest quality of service both above and below the water, and their exceptional itineraries, taking in some of the more popular, but also some of the more remote and untouched diving areas, out them high on the list of boats to consider for an Indonesian dive cruise.
