Gangga Island Resort

Gangga Island lies next to Bangka Island, midway between Manado and the Lembeh Straits. Gangaa Island resort commands a beautiful location on the southern tip of the island, with a long curved sandy beach with shallow coral reef beyond. The resorts traditional wooden bungalows nestle within neatly tended gardens, each with private balcony overlooking the sea, and have both a double and single bed, en suite bathroom and air conditioning. Fresh flowers and fruit are provided in each room, and they are tastefully decorated with local furniture.

The main reception area houses the bar with comfy sofas - an ideal place to relax and have a cool drink at the end of the day - and large restaurant. Between the reception area and sea is a salt water infinity pool where tea and snacks are served throughout the day. Sun loungers and beach towels are provided for guest’s use. Next to the pool can be found the resort’s spa, where you can have a variety of relaxing massages and be pampered during your stay. A small boutique selling t-shirts, arts and crafts and some toiletries is located next to the spa.

A long jetty juts out to sea across the reef, and from here Gangga Divers offers daily dive trips to all the local dive spots. Because of its central location, Gangga Divers can offer trips to local the dive sites around Gangga & Bangka Islands, on the mainland at Batu Mandi and Paradise Beach, as well as extended day trips to Lembeh and Bunaken. Gangga Divers have a fleet of small boats that cater for a maximum of 6-8 divers. You will be allocated a private guide for the duration of your stay, and the ratio of guides to divers is never greater than 1 than 4. The guides are experts at spotting critters for photographers and are exceedingly knowledgeable about the local marine life. If there is a particular creature that you want to see, then the guides will almost certainly know where to look for it!

Gangga can also offer a variety of land tours on the mainland to visit rainforests, volcanoes and local market for those who are feeling a little waterlogged!

Gangga is in our opinion one of the nicest resorts in the Manado area, and offers exceptional value for money considering the quality of accommodation, the setting and service. Its central location in North Sulawesi also means that a two-centred holiday is not required if you want to enjoy the diving in both the Lembeh Straits area and around Bangka and Gangga Islands.
