Facing East to catch the setting sun,
Raja4Divers is West Papua's newest and perhaps most idyllic resort.
Located on a small group of islands to the West of Gam, one of the larger islands in the Bird's Head Peninsula region. Pulau Pef, the largest island in the resort's little archipelago, is fringed by a stunning beach to the East and rises high, covered in lush green forest to drop down to an almost totally enclosed bay of quiet, mangrove, coral and fish-filled waters. At the south-eastern mouth of the bay can be found limestone cliffs covered with ancient rock paintings. Obviously someone a long time ago thought Pulau Pef was a place worth living!

It is on the eastern facing beach that Raja4Divers is located; just six beautiful bungalows, built on stilts over the water with verandahs facing the sea and garden style open air bathrooms to the rear.
Contructed in traditional Papuan style from locally sourced materials, each is supmtuously appointed within, offering every creature comfort, including fridge, writing desk, beautiful hardwood beds shrouded in soft mosquito nets and fans to create a gentle breeze at night. The covered verandah has sun loungers and hammocks and steps down into the water. At the rear of the bungalow is a smalled walled garden with open air bathroom; a solid fence assures privacy!

Set further along the beach from the bungalows is the overwater restaurant, which offers a delicious array of local and imported produce. The food is very much Indonesian in flavour, with a more familiar Continental breakfast. Vegetarians
and those with a restricted diet are well catered for, and you certainly wont go hungry!

Here also is the dive shop and imaging studio, which is one of the finest and best equipped for both land and underwater photgraphers anywhere! Well known professional photographers Claudia and Leon of bittenbysharks.com operate the Imaging Studio and are happy to share their expertise with every level of imaging enthusiast. Leon and Claudia have now assisted in creating the tranquil setting that is Raja4Divers!

Pulau Pef is ideally situated to provide access to the finest diving in the northern region fo Raja Ampat. The resort has a wonderful house reef, festooned in a wealth of corals, fish and critters, and a jetty
that at dusk is home to elusive but beautiful mandarin fish. It's an ideal place to enjoy long shallow night and day dives searching for small and intersting beasties. Around the island are a host of beautiful reef dives with a wide variety of hard coral formations festonned with soft corals and sea fans, and inhabited by vast range of reef tropicals.
To the south-east towards Mansuar Island, can be found incredible manta ray dives at Manta Reef and Manta Point. To the East is The Passage, a thin channel between Gam and Waigeo
Islands, filled with beautiful corals and fringed by mangroves.
To the West, North, every direction, new and wonderful dive sites being discovered all the time. This area of Raja Ampat is so
incredibly diverse and rich that it would take a lifetime to just merely scratch the surface of what is on offer! In a week you will see almost every genus of fish, coral and mollusc that the Indo Pacific has to offer!
