Seahorse

See Seahorse's schedule of departures

Seahorse
is a beautiful 110ft traditionally built wooden phinisi - but with plenty of modern touches! Powered by a 380hp MAN engine she can comfortably cruise at 10-12 knots, essential for the distances she travels on her 7-14 day cruises. All the interior rooms are air-conditioned and lavishly fitted out, but the traditional feel is retained with hardwoods decking and walls.

Accomodation is for 16 guests; there are 6 standard twin/double cabins on the lower deck, each with en suite bathrooms and individual air-conditioning controls and 2 deluxe double cabins on the main deck, again with en suites and nice picture windows. All the cabins have TV, DVD player and small desks at which you can write or tinker with your digital images! A crew of 12 looks after your every need!

The saloon is on the main deck, and it is here you can enjoy the delicious food served from the well equipped galley, or relax and chat with new found friends. A small library is available, with a variety of fish identification books and some light reading. For those who wish to soak up the sun, Seahorse has plenty of open and shaded decks upon which to work on their tan or admire the majestic views as the boat moves from dive site to dive site.

Diving is done from one of Seahorse's spacious and custom built tenders, and all dive gar is transferred from the Seahorse to the tenders by the attentive deck hands. The dive gear room also contains extensive areas for camera users, with charging facilities and camera tables.

Seahorse has an extensive itinerary that covers many areas of Indonesia, and she moves from place to place according to the weather and diving conditions. You can rest assured that where ever she is, the diving conditions will be optimum!

Typically, from October - March she will be based in Raja Ampat, diving Kri, Penemu, Waigo and Misool; on certain longer trips she will venture round to Triton Bay, on Western Papua's south coast, where some extraordinary dive sites are bing discovered. These incredibly beautiful and remote areas of far eastern Indonesia are slowly giving up their underwater secrets and are widely regarded as having possibly the best tropical scuba diving in the world.

From April - June she covers the Derawan archipelago of Kakaban, Sangalaki and Maratua islands, on the east coast Kalimantan, Indonesia's part of Borneo. here you can find manta rays, the world's largest jellyfish lake, turtles, beautiful reefs and fantastic critter encounters.

From July - September Seahorse relocates to the Komodo area, diving the walls and reefs that hug the edge of the Indoan Ocean. Here you can expect strong currents and prolific fish life, and the opportunity to go ashore and see Komodo Dragons!

Seahorse is a superb boat offering very exciting itineraries throughout Indonesia and caters for small numbers, making the diving that much more enjoyable.
