| Palau Aggressor II |

Typical Itinerary from the UK |

The Palau Aggressor II is one of the most amazing dive boats
in the world! A 106ft jet-powered catamaran with a speed in excess
of 20kts, she has a mere 4ft draught that allows her to manoeuvre
in
shallow water with ease. On her main deck she sleeps just 16 passengers
in 8 air-conditioned deluxe staterooms each with private en suite
bathrooms and panoramic windows out to the stunning scenery of Palau.
Diving is not done in the conventional way! As the reefs of Palau
top out in very shallow water, large boats cannot get in too close
to them. The Palau Aggressor II gets over this problem with
a high speed skiff capable of speeds of 50kts that whisks people
to the dive site in minutes. Tanks are permanently set up in the
skiff and filled in situ. The skiff is lowered and raised form the
main deck level by means of a hydraulic ramp - you merely step into
and out of the boat before and after your dive without even getting
your feet wet!! The Palau Aggressor II operates a 7-night
itinerary every Sunday from Koror to Palau's popular and remote
dive sites.
The Palau Aggressor II is an awesome vessel. Radically designed
as a 106ft aluminium catamaran, she is powered by two 1050hp jet
drives that force her through the water at a speed of 20kts. With
only a 4ft draft she can negotiate the tightest spots in Palaus
intricate reef systems. Being a cat she offers fabulous stability
and exceedingly spacious accommodation. She is, after all, almost
twice as wide as the average boat of her length would be! Even more
amazing is her tender, the Palau Aggressor II½. As
the main vessel is used very much as a mother ship, divers are transported
to the dive site by a 30ft tender that is lowered and raised from
the water to main deck level by means of a hydraulic ramp - you
merely step into and out of the main boat before and after your
dive without even getting your feet wet!! This is of course essential
for divers who are afraid of getting damp! The tender is so over-powered
that it can run at 50kts. Tanks remain on the tender to be filled
by whips from the compressor banks, so all you need do is done your
wet suit and clamber in. Theyll even do the dive for you if
you think it is too much like hard work!
Even with the dive deck being essentially on the tender there is
still a large dive deck on the mother ship, with camera table, rinse
tanks and freshwater showers. The 8 cabins are also located on the
main deck, a corridor running down the transom between the hulls,
the cabins located over each hull. The cabins are identical, with
double bed below and single bunk above, basin in the cabin and en
suite bathroom. Each cabin has a large panoramic window to admire
the view of the wonderful Rock Islands and is air-conditioned.
A stairway takes you from the dive area to the upper deck, where
there is a shaded bar and hot tub at the stern, the air-conditioned
saloon and dining area midships. Here can be found comfy sofas,
tables & chairs, TV, video & music centre. The galley is
adjacent to the saloon breakfast & dinner are usually
served indoors, but lunch is often served al fresco on the sun deck.
The sun deck is partially covered, and there is ample space for
all the guests to relax between dives.
The Palau Aggressor II runs 7 night cruises Sunday-Sunday
from Koror south to the dive sites of Peleliu, Ngemelis and Ulong.
Because of the paucity of flights to Palau from SE Asia a nights
accommodation in Manila & Palau is required outbound and 3 nights
in Palau inbound. This gives you the opportunity to see some of
the land sites of Palau, take in some more diving, maybe go sea
kayaking or merely relax on the beach.
