Telita was the boat that put PNG diving on the map!!! Designed
and built by Bob Halstead in the 1980s, she was at the cutting edge
of diving, opening up new diving frontiers in the world's most beautiful
dive destination. In her time she set the standard for dive boats.
With Bob's sale of Telita Cruises to Mike Ball, the latter's introduction
of the cattle cruiser Paradise Sport (try muck diving at Dinah's
Beach with 23 other people!) and the former's subsequent retirement
to Cairns, Telita was left in limbo. However, she has now
been purchased by the owners of Golden Dawn and has been
wonderfully upgraded, with new crews quarters on the top deck and
a sophisticated stabiliser system not unlike that to be found on
Golden Dawn.
While Telita can accommodate 12 passengers, the new owners
have sensibly limited the number to just 10. 4 cabins below deck
have a double bed below and single bunk above, a sink with hot &
cold water. individually controlled aircon and even hair dryers!
The deluxe cabin has a double bed and en suite bathroom. All the
cabins are served with 110 & 240v electricity.
All of Telita's cruises start and finish in Alotau.
