The Blue Lagoon Resort has recently undergone an extensive multi-million
dollar refurbishment, and is a far cry from the scruffier days when
it was under the auspices of Continental Airlines. The new owners,
Castle Resorts, have done the resorts location and Truk
proud! It is now an excellent hotel in every sense of the word.
The resort is positioned amongst 14 acres of gardens shaded by
palm trees. 54 rooms and 2 suites, each with private bathrooms,
IDD telephones, TV, balcony or veranda are built in 2-storey, low
impact blocks, set along a white sandy beach with views out across
historic Truk Lagoon. Apart from diving, the resort offers sea kayak
rentals, fishing & boat excursions, a restaurant and choice
of inside & outside bar land tours of Weno. The restaurant offers
a choice of local & Asian cuisine, seafood being, of course,
a speciality. A gift shop caters for those everyday items you may
have left at home! For those who like to keep in touch with the
outside world there is a fax & email service.
The Blue Lagoon Resort has its own dive operation located
on site Blue Lagoon Divers, the best established and most
professional of all Truks dive operators. The PADI shop offers
certification courses and daily dive trips to the wrecks & reefs
of Truk Lagoon. 4 compressors & large cascade banks can easily
handle the 200 tanks that are used to ferry divers to the wrecks
by a choice of 10 dive boats. For larger groups, private dive boat
charter can be arranged in advance, allowing you total flexibility
in your diving!
The dive boats leave from the resorts very own docks, and
this is also where the Truk Aggressor & Truk Odyssey moorsevery
Saturday afternoon at the end of each cruise to re-supply with food
& guests before heading out again on Sunday evening.
